His Eminence Sayyed Ali Al Amin, Member of the Council of Muslim Elders, extends his condolences to the families of the victims, the people and the Government of New Zealand:
The horrible crime that occured in New Zealand is a full-fledged terrorist act. It is condemned with absolute terms of refusal. The international community as a whole is called upon to unite in order to confront this pervasive evil that is destructive to the peaceful coexistence of human beings.
Terrorism is neither Eastern nor Western, nor Islamic nor Christian. It is an act of evil, committed by fanatics, who are rejected by the laws of the earth and heaven.
We extend our deep condolences to the families of the victims, the people of New Zealand and the government of New Zealand on this painful tragedy that has struck them. We pray to God to bestow His mercy upon the souls of the victims, and to speed the recovery of the wounded.
